Swatragh 1-15 Middletown 0-13

On Thursday last the Davitts travelled to Naomh Colmcille to take on Middletown for a place in the Ulster semi final. Swatragh started the game in a positive manner and after a few points, a goal from Ruairi Convery gave them a comfortable advantage. Despite this good start the Davitts seemed to take their foot off the pedal and let Middletown back into the game. The Armagh side's direct running and tenacious tackling gave Swatragh endless problems, and they steadied the ship to hold the Davitts to a five point lead at half time

The second half continued in much the same way and at one stage Middletown closed the gap to two points. The Swatragh defence was under pressure not helped by the loss of in form full back Conor Quinn to an arm injury. However Ruairi Convery was as accurate as ever from placed balls and ensured that there would be no upset.

This was far from a good performance from the Davitts but they can take some encouragement from the fact that they managed win when not at their best.
