U-16 Footballers Progress To Final

Swatraghs U16 football panel have made the South Derry Final fixed for Saturday after defeating a Fancied Glen Team at Ballinascreen on Sunday. This was a very competitive game with Swatragh showing a lot of character to overcome a very spirited Glen Team.

The first half was a low scoring affair with Swatragh taking the early advantage with a goal from John McAtamney. Swatraghs lead was quickly cancelled with Glen adding a goal and a point just before half time to go in at the half time break one point to the good.

The second half saw a lot more determined Swatragh side with 3 points being quickly added after the break. Glen were then reduced to 14 men which was a huge blow to there hopes. Swatragh then added a goal from Cathal McWilliams to give them some breathing space. A further goal was added from Danny McCusker to seal the game for the Davitts.
