Under 10's Win Indoor Title

On Saturday, our Under 10s went to Ballymena Leisure Centre to take part in the Section 4 Final of the Costcutter North Antrim U10 League against St Brigids Cloughmills. The boys had reached the final by qualifying over the last two weekends at Coleraine and Ballymoney.
The Final was an entertaining affair with every member of the team giving their all. The game started of well for the Davitts with Fintan McGurk getting two excellent long range goals to set the team on the way. Niall McAtamney and Ciaran Lagan were giving great support in midfield with Seamus Gribben mopping up all that came his way in the first half.

Half time – Swatragh 2  St Brigids 0

The second half got of to a dream start for Swatragh with Fintan McGurk scoring a penalty within a minute of the re-start, to put them up 3-0. However Cloughmills got back into the game with two quick goals to set up a tense finish. The turning point of the match came with an instinctive save from John Walsh, who had been solid throughout the game with his lengthy clearances. The ball was cleared up the field for Fintan McGurk to score his fourth and give the team the victory they undoubtedly deserved. Callum McGuckin was then introduced by the management for Ciaran Lagan to bolster the attack. The final few minutes saw both teams attack with no reward. This was a well deserved reward for the team who have trained throughout the winter and had Mark Cassidy missing due to illness. Well done Boys.
