Swatragh 1-09 Banagher 1-13
Swatragh Come Up Short
At the end of this game Swatragh found themselves in an all too familiar position. They had played and battled gamely throughout the match but could not manage to win. Against the reigning county champions they had never been out of touch but could not make the final step to clinch victory.
Indeed at half time in this game Swatragh should have been several points to the good, but for some woeful free taking by no less than four different free takers. If Swatragh had taken even half of their chances from placed balls they would have been in a strong half time position instead of the one point deficit they were faced with.
Banagher struck an early second half goal to stretch their lead but never got any further away and when substitute Michael Conway goaled with time running out a come back victory looked to be on the cards. However Banagher struck some fine long range points to edge out to a safe position once again and claim a hard earned victory.
Final Score: Swatragh 1-09 Banagher 1-13.
