Davitts Edged Out In Tight Encounter

Swatragh 1-05 Ballinascreen 0-11

Swatragh lost in the Premier Division for the fifth time as they were edged out by Ballinascreen in a tight game at Dean McGlinchey Park. It was hard luck on the Davitts who looked like getting a result for long periods of the game.

Swatragh got of to the best possible start when Ruairi O’Hagan hit the net within sixty seconds of the throw in. However, they failed to capitalise on this fantastic start, and ‘screen hit back with five unanswered points to take the lead. The Davitts edged back into the game once more and at the half time whistle a single point separated the sides.

The Davitts started the second half in a positive manner and tied up the game early on. With both defences on top scores were at a premium and both sides struggled to take the game by the scruff of the neck.

With the sides still inseparable entering the final ten minutes it was the screen who finished the stronger to claim the victory. It was another disappointing result for Swatragh who have been on the wrong side of several narrow score lines so far this season.

Swatragh will need to get more clinical in front of goals as they struggled for scores in this game, missing some key forwards. It will not be long until they are back at full strength as climbing their way back up the table.
