Swatragh 1-11 Ballymaguigan 0-15
The Davitts got their league campaign off to a bad start as they threw away a two point advantage in the closing minutes to newly promoted Ballymaguigan.
Playing against the breeze in the opening half Swatragh had earned a two point advantage at the interval, thanks to a goal midway through the period. The home side seemed well placed to go on and secure victory. However Ballymaguigan never gave up hope and they managed to keep themselves in touch as the second half wore on.
As the game entered the final five minutes Swatragh still held their two point advantage. However as Swatragh began to struggle for possession in the middle third the away side fired over three successive points to earn a hard fought victory.
Swatragh will look back ruefully on a number of costly errors but in truth the overall performance got the result it deserved.
