Kilrea 0-11 Swatragh 2-08

On Friday evening the Davitts made the short trip to Kilrea for this top of the table reserve encounter. The home side had only lost one league game all season – in the reverse fixture against the Davitts. This was an even contest from the start and there was never more than a kick of a ball between the sides.

The first half ebbed an flowed with both side enjoying periods of dominance and it was the home side who fared slightly better to lead by two points. The second half was by and large dominated by Swatragh. They managed to bag two decisive goals in this period coming through a John McKeefry penalty and Eugene O'Kane.

After the second of these strikes, the Davitts held a five point lead, and the comfortably managed to see out the game to ensure they remained top of the table.

This was a good performance from the Davitts against another strong side. Swatragh will hope to maintain their good from in the forthcoming games.
